Current System for the Shifts
We have shifts based on the Time zone which displayes the Time zone on the Dashboard. So if you Change India time zone, it will be all the shifts based in Indian Time zone.
Example Setup : Shifts are based on the time zone.
An employee is registered on the Specific time zone Shifts for 6:30 to 4am than it works fine but If the employee has cross day shifts like evening 6pm to 3am shift next day. Than in that case it will be day changed and we are not able to run the check out or break time.
Our Crons:
- It provides live entries so first entry will be check in and second entries will be break in and at the end when his shifts end it will consider his last entry as his check out. And his check out entries are fine but what if his shifts ends after 12pm so it is not considering the same day check out it. It consider check in next day.
- We have device which are USA time zone which provides entries and our API calls and segragate entries.

Upgraded Version
We focus on the "Business Logic"—how it solves headaches with accuracy, overnight shifts, and multiple schedules
Upgraded Payroll & Shift Management System
The upgraded system moves away from a standard "Calendar Day" view and adopts a "Smart Shift Session" approach. This ensures that no matter when an employee punches in or out, their hours are always captured in the correct "bucket" for payroll.
1. The "Shift Anchor" (Solving the Overnight Problem)
In the old system, a shift crossing midnight (e.g., 6 PM Monday to 3 AM Tuesday) often caused errors because the system "reset" at midnight.
The Upgrade: The system now "anchors" the entire work session to the day it started.
Result: When an employee punches out at 3 AM on Tuesday, the system is smart enough to know they are finishing their Monday Night Shift. All hours, breaks, and overtime stay grouped together on the Monday report.
2. Seamless Back-to-Back Shifts
If an employee is scheduled for two shifts in a row (e.g., Day Shift followed by Night Shift):
The Upgrade: The system recognizes the specific "handover" time.
Result: When they punch at 6:30 PM, the system automatically closes the first shift (calculating any overtime) and immediately opens the second shift. This prevents "entangled" data and ensures each shift's pay is calculated independently and accurately.
3. Accurate Overtime & Late Arrivals
We have separated "Late Coming" from "Overtime" to ensure fair pay.
Late Coming: If an employee starts 30 minutes late, the system flags it but doesn't affect the rest of the day's math.
Overtime: Overtime is only triggered once the employee passes their Scheduled End Time.
Example: If a shift ends at 3 AM and they leave at 3:45 AM, they get exactly 45 minutes of Overtime, even if they started their shift late.
4. Real-Time "Live" Dashboard
With our new 10-second sync engine, the dashboard acts as a live heartbeat of the company.
Live Visibility: You can see exactly who is "Checked In," who is "On Break," and who has "Finished" across different time zones (USA and India) instantly.
Automatic Time Zone Conversion: You can toggle the entire dashboard between India Time and USA Time with one click. The system handles all the complex math behind the scenes so the reports always make sense to you.
